Sustainability Steering Committee

Overview

Rice University is charting an ambitious course toward a more sustainable, resilient, and equitable future—on campus, throughout Houston, and across the world. Guided in part by the university’s Strategic Plan, Momentous, and the Rice Sustainability Plan, the Sustainability Steering Committee serves as a coordinating body that brings Rice's sustainability vision to life.

The committee convenes leaders from across campus to align sustainability efforts across the institution. Through its work, the Steering Committee oversees and accelerates key initiatives, elevates collaboration among schools, administrative units, and campus partners, and ensures that sustainability remains a shared institutional priority.

Together, these efforts position Rice University to become a leader in sustainability that innovates boldly, collaborates across disciplines, and prepares future generations to thrive and lead in a rapidly changing climate landscape.
