Rice's goal to become more sustainable in our use of resources has permeated many aspects of the University's operations, from how we build, operate, and maintain our buildings, to the type and origin of the food that we serve in campus serveries, and the kinds of transportation options and systems we provide to our community, to name a few. Many of these initiatives are driven by partnerships between students, faculty, and staff, including through courses and independent study projects, as well as through environmental organizations.
