Rice ReUse was established in spring 2026 to inspire and empower Rice University students to engage in and promote sustainable move-in and move-out practices on campus, and to foster a campus-wide culture of environmental responsibility. Rice ReUse is dedicated to fostering student involvement in circularity and sustainability by providing opportunities for Rice University students to volunteer, donate, and receive gently used furniture and appliances. Rice ReUse's mission compliments the existing Give a Hoot! Donate Your Loot! move-out collection campaign.
Rice ReUse operates in 3 steps:
1. Collecting donated furniture and appliances during Spring move-out.
2. Storing them over the Summer.
3. Providing them to students in August at affordable prices through our Fall Sale.
