The Rice Children’s Campus is a single-story, 9,750 square foot building located at 5504 Chaucer Drive. The building is designed to provide a safe and enriching educational environment for the children of Rice employees and will offer care for up to 86 children; ages newborn to five years. Rice Children’s Campus became LEED silver certified and contains:

  • 30 percent less water usage than a typical building of the same size.
  • Renewable energy sources supplying over one-fourth of the building’s energy
  • More than 50 percent salvageable debris that can be used for future projects or can be recycled.
  • Architectural paints, coatings, and primers applied to interior walls and ceilings that do not exceed the VOC content limits established in Green Seal Standard GS-11.
