Living Lab Submission Process

  1. Idea Submission

    A project leader submits an idea to the Office of Sustainability via the online Qualtrics submission form.
     
  2. Initial Review

    The Office of Sustainability reviews the proposal and engages the Rice Sustainability Institute (RSI) when applicable. The project leader will be contacted if additional information or clarification is needed for their submission.
     
  3. Stakeholder Identification

    The Office of Sustainability and/or RSI identifies relevant campus stakeholders.
     
  4. Stakeholder Engagement

    The Office of Sustainability and/or RSI facilitates initial stakeholder engagement and coordinates meetings between stakeholders and the project leader.
     
  5. Project Development

    The project leader, with the support of the Office of Sustainability and/or RSI, will develop the scope, goals, timeline, and funding/resource needs of the project.
     
  6. Project Implementation

    The project leader implements the project with the stakeholders' support.
     
  7. Project Evaluation & Reporting

    The project leader evaluates the results of the project and reports outcomes to the Office of Sustainability and/or the Rice Sustainability Institute.
     
  8. Project Showcasing & Archiving

    The Office of Sustainability and/or the Rice Sustainability Institute, in partnership with the project leader, develops a case study and promotional materials from the project.
