Gennifer Geer is a rising junior Asian Studies and History major. She's been on the Sustainability at Rice intern list since her freshman year, when she started as a communications intern. Gennifer's interest in sustainability comes from her love of green spaces and desire to preserve them. She's passionate in believing that sustainable practices should be accessible to everyone; you don't have to be a tree-hugging hipster to do it. This summer, she'll continue her position as the lead communications intern for the ACSEM, curating newsletters and the Facilities Annual Report. She'll also be living in Japan this summer for academic projects, using the 13-hour time difference as an excuse to delay responding to emails. You can find her around campus digging plastic bottles and metal cans out of the trash and moving them to the recycling.
