The Rice Environmental Society (RES) is an umbrella organization meant to strengthen sustainability efforts on campus. While not taking away any sovereignty from existing groups, RES brings together students and administrators involved with environmentalism on campus. Its main goals are: to give a formal name and unified identity to the environmental and sustainability-focused groups on campus; to provide opportunities for students to implement environmental change on campus by offering funding and institutional support; and to promote collaboration among members of the Rice Environmental Society through regular meetings.

RES offers funding for student initiatives aimed at improving the sustainability of our campus. If you have an idea, please submit an application on their website.
