Members-only sustainability resources available to Rice community

The Administrative Center for Sustainability and Energy Management (ACSEM) offers members-only access to the Rice community to two valuable sustainability resource organizations.

Rice University is an institutional member of the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE), an organization dedicated to providing resources and professional development opportunities for campus sustainability leaders. Any member of the Rice community can access AASHE’s members-only resources by simply creating an account using a rice.edu email address. AASHE offers a free weekly e-newsletter called the AASHE Bulletin that provides the latest in campus sustainability news to over 10,000 subscribers.

Rice is also a member of the US Green Building Council, an organization that oversees the LEED green building certification program and provides credentialing and education for those interested in green building. Through Rice’s membership, faculty and staff can access members-only resources and are also eligible to receive discounts on certain events and reference materials. Faculty and staff can register using their rice.edu email address at www.usgbc.org/register and by providing Rice’s Corporate Access ID: 3070534108155140. This Corporate ID should also be used to unlock discounts. With apologies, USGBC members-only access using Rice’s institutional membership is not available to Rice students at this time.
